Cost-Share Program

One of the main programs available to the public through the Land and Water Conservation Department (LWCD) is the Cost-Share Program (CSP).  The program is available for farming practices and shoreland owners, rivers and lakes, to help protect water quality.  Since there is very little agriculture in Forest County, most of the projects carried out through the CSP are along shorelines and streambanks.

The CSP is administered by the LWCD with grant money from the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP).  DATCP Administrative Code ATCP 50 and Wisconsin DNR Administrative Rule NR 151 set the standards for the CSP.  Projects must also follow practice standards and specifications set by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in the Field Office Technical Guide.

For more information on the CSP please read the CSP Info document or feel free to contact the LWCD at 715-478-3893.  Click here for a list of allowable practices.
