County, with 824 named lakes, 82 trout streams and 136 trout spring ponds
has some of the best ice fishing in Northeastern Wisconsin.
Area lake conditions are as follows:
The lakes have been frozen over since deer season. Many of them have 10-14 inches of ice. Shacks have been popping up all over the lakes.
Since ice conditions vary by lake and can change rapidly, it is always best to to check thickness before going out. Remember though, ICE IS NEVER SAFE. Ice thinckness varies on a lake so be sure to check in multiple spots.
